What’s Up With Me

Hometown, where’d you grow up? Eagle River, AK. It is right in the heart of the Chugach Mountains and a great place to grow up.

Home Mountain, where do you live now? After living in Montana for a year and then Utah for 4 years while attending college, I moved back to AK. I work on the pipeline 5 months a year and chill at my house in Eagle River for the rest of the year. I don’t have the typical home mountain anymore. I haven’t had a season pass for 5 years now. I own a snowmachine and literally have thousands of home mountains. I ride a lot in the Talkeetna Mountains and the Chugach Mountains.

Trick you have dialed in? I can usually get a bs7 with various grabs on my first try.

Next trick to learn? Double corks ?or is this old dog too old for that one...

Favorite place to visit? Any central America point break that is popping off.

What do you like to do when you’re not Riding? Let’s see: I like to make movies and websites (www.akbinge.com and www.akbinge.tv) , I golf, surf, dirtbike, workout, and chill with my girlfriend, Heidi.

If you couldn’t make a living snowboarding, what do you want to be when you grow up? Man, I feel like I have a good gig. I work half the year as an engineer on pipeline construction projects and make enough money to do whatever I want the rest of the year. I feel like I am grown up but am not. I will probably work in the oil and gas industry full time when I am fulfilled with snowboarding, which won’t be anytime soon. I hope to make a living off of binge. but not yet!

Favorite Band, favorite song quote? There are so many great ones. I have really been into Matisyahu the past few weeks.

Favorite appliance? Bong.

Pet Peeves? When people don't realize avalanche hazards that are clearly evident.

Favorite Guilty Pleasure? 420 all day!

Next purchase? It will probably be a beer at the bar tonight.
